Don't Be Fooled When You Shop For New Cell Phones. When You Buy The Latest Mobile Phone, Make Sure It's Really New.

So you're thinking of buying the latest mobile phone and your friend says "Why not get a used cell phone? It's cheaper and just as good!" Now that isn't quite accurate. It may be true that you can get a fairly new second-hand cell phone at a cheaper price, but the question remains, why would you want to?

In the past, new cell phones used to be much more expensive and it was probably better to get a used mobile phone because of the price. But these days, it's quite different. New cell phones are more reasonably priced and they come with great cell phone plans that you don't want to miss out on. Obviously, you won't be able to enjoy these offers when you buy a used phone.

It's also true that you can still get some of the latest mobile phones when you buy them second-hand. But why would you want to buy a reconditioned phone? It may look like a new cell phone but you wouldn't know if it has ever been broken or if any of its parts have been removed or replaced. If you're shopping for the newest cell phones in the market, then you might as well get a brand new phone. The only reason you might want to get a used phone is because the mobile phone model that you're interested in is either out-of-date or out of stock.

Honestly, if you're looking to buy a new cell phone, then you might as well head to the store and get the latest mobile phone on offer. At the very least, you know that it's new out of the box, and there is a negligible risk of your new cell phone breaking down for no apparent reason.

By: John Lim

When mobile cell phones were first released, they were only really used by the wealthy business man; the phones were so large that it was near impossible to carry them around. But then something amazing happened, pay as you go mobile phones were released, and could be purchased by any one of any age. The design of handsets got smaller and sleeker, and the technology that was being loaded in to them was mind-blowing.

Then the inevitable happened and students all around the world started buying the latest phones, but how has this affected the current education sector? Let's have a closer look.

Most schools have already signalled the cell phone as disruptive and distractive, and have set aside policies that forbid the use of them on school grounds. A major downside of these phones in class is that students can text there friends throughout lessons and miss out on hearing the teacher's thoughts and opinions. Students can also cheat in exams by texting the answer to one another.

The modern day phone also comes equipt with cameras, these also add to the privacy pressure that schools around the world are facing. To eliminate this problem cell phones should be banned from being brought into school premises, or must be switched off throughout the day. There is no need to have phones switched on during the day, students should be at school to learn, not have fun. If there is a case of emergency, then parents know how to contact the school immediately.

Another use of the growing technology in these phones are games, with graphics getting more and more advanced, students would rather turn the volume low on there handsets and play games rather then listen to the teachers. Further advancements will see students connecting with there handsets online and playing with there friends throughout the classroom.

Distractions such as mobile cell phones do not belong in a school; there was no need for them in the past. So why have things changed? If you are concerned about your child's education being affected at school, then you are 100% right to be. Kids having a cell phone throughout class will only end up causing bad activities. A way for schools to get around this would be to implement a block feature, so that while on the premises, mobile phones could not pick up any signal. Although this will not stop the use of playing games on the phone, it will effectively stop texting and cheating in class.

By: Musa Aykac

Cell phones have truly changed the way that life is lived in today's world, sometimes in very subtle ways. For instance, as little as ten years ago, it was remarkably uncommon to be asked to turn off your cell phones before a movie, play, concert, or even while shopping. Now, these sorts of requests are commonly part of the introductory spiel that accompanies many events or may be even posted literally. This is just one example of the dozens of different ways that cell phones have found their way into daily life, which may explain why reverse phone lookups are now more popular than ever.

Reverse phone lookups are websites specifically built around making it easy to learn more about the owners of phone numbers in today's highly technical world. In the past, white pages were the dominant phone research tools in use. However, white pages have a few flaws that make them ill equipped to deal with today's phone users' needs. White pages don't contain listings for cell phones, which means, in a lot of ways, the white pages are obsolete. However, reverse phone lookups are just getting started where the white pages stop.

Reverse phone lookup websites can provide access to information about millions of different phone numbers. Unlike the white pages, searching a reverse phone lookup is fast and easy. Plus, with a reverse phone lookup, you can find almost any phone number, including cell phones. Because you're searching over the Internet, you know that you'll be able to get results in a timely manner, often less than a few minutes. All you need is the phone number, and you'll be able to get the name and the address of that phone's owner with little or no waiting time.

That's why so many people choose to run a phone number search. It is a great way to find out more about strange calls, thus doing the job of the white pages, in a modern context.

By: Martin Verite

By now I'm sure you know what spyware is, and how it secretly sneaks onto your computer, and collects personal information. Did you know that there is even cell phone spyware now!

FlexiSPY is an 'activity logger' for mobile phones. That's another word for spyware. All activity such as sending and receiving SMS messages, call history, (incoming / outgoing), call duration, GPRS activity, and contact names in their address book that is associated to each SMS and call.

At least FlexiSPY is activity monitoring software that needs to be consciously installed by a Human, who knows EXACTLY what the software does. It does NOT self replicate, it does NOT pretend to be something it is not, and it ALWAYS requires conscious human action for instalation. Unfortunately this doesn't stop unethical people from sending the program to phones via a Bluetooth connection and trust that there are enough curious people to install it.

FlexiSPY must be consciously installed on the device by a user who has physical possession of that device. How many times have you installed spyware thinking it was something else for your computer? I know I have! FlexiSpy sounds like the equivalent of a key logger on a computer.

FlexiSPY does not masquerade itself as something it is not, nor does it replicate itself as a virus would. But it is the beginning of something concerning. Spyware is making that "jump" to phones, and that really stinks. I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Just be weary of programs that you install on your phone, as the next one could be a troublemaker!

By: Matt Bush

Buying and selling cell phones is a very lucrative business. Cell phones are a necessity in today's modern life so it is always a hot commodity.

WHY YOU SHOUD BUY CELLPHONES IN BULK

When purchasing cell phones for your business, remember to buy in bulk because when you purchase more, you save more. As a phone dealer, you can really save a lot of money when you buy wholesale cell phones rather than buying one at a time. It is always best to have a large inventory of the products you are selling for convenience and getting more sales.

WHERE TO BUY CELLPHONES IN BULK

Get in touch with the largest cell phone wholesalers in the country. They offer wholesale mobile phones, wholesale phone accessories, and other discounted products such as satellite TV dishes, LCD panels, and cellular accessories.

The Internet can provide you with a long list of wholesale cell phone suppliers. You can even find one in your area. They offer great discounts, convenient payment schemes, money-back guarantees, and shipment tracking, among other things. There are also websites that offer wholesale cell phones direct from China at factory price.

There is also a market for secondhand cell phones. As a phone dealer, you can sell brand new cell phones and accessories, but you can also buy used units at a lower price and resell them to other people. This kind of cell phone trading is becoming popular because of the practicality. These secondhand cell phones cost less than the brand new ones but they still work all the same.

By: Max Bellamy

Some cell phones are designed to use a Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card, or Memory Chip that stores subscriber data. The SIM card is issued by a carrier and provides cell service by activating any phone into which it is placed into. A locked phone, however, will only recognize a SIM card from a particular carrier. If the cell phone is unlocked, it will recognize a SIM card from any carrier. The "lock" is a software setting that keeps the cell phone "locked" to one carrier.

In areas like the U.S.A. where carriers offer free or discounted phones with cell plans, the phones are commonly locked so that they will not work with other carriers. Carriers claim this is necessary to cover the cost of the phones but I do not believe this is the case since you have to sign a contact in order to receive a free or discounted cell phone from carriers in the first place.

From the viewpoint of the customer, carriers locking phones and using proprietary settings defeats many of the benefits of handsets that use SIM cards. Ideally phones should be left unlocked, or at least unlocked after the initial contract expires.

One way to get an unlocked phone without proprietary settings is to buy it new from a third party vendor in its original, unlocked state. The upside is that the price is commonly close to 60% of retail. Some consumers might find it easy to do this because they ca upgrade whenever they like. The other advantage is that the third party unlocked phones work equally well with any carrier that uses SIM cards for their service.

Unlocked cell phones are in such high demand that third party companies will unlock your cell phone for a price. This does not mean the phone will always work normally, as proprietary you carriers settings might remain. There are also instructions on hacking to unlock many brands of phones, but a phone that is hacked or improperly unlocked can be rendered unusable.

Your network provider prefers that you avail of their services as long as you need one. In an effort to increase customer retention, providers have started offering "free" phones for anyone who will sign a contract with them. Unfortunately, phones acquired this way aren't really free because the plans of these networks are costly.

Having a mobile phone that you have expected is now easy, just by entering a deal with the network provider or so you can get the latest one.Having an unlock cell phone means that you have the freedom to choose the network provider which you are most comfortable with. With an unlock mobile phone, you can now use your old Blackberry or Motorola with a more efficient service provider.

Thanks to mobile phone unlock service; it is no longer necessary to buy a new phone in order to switch to another provider. With the advancement of technology, remote unlock cell phone is now possible at a much lower price. We are fortunate that technology has new kind of technology that can answer new needs such as mobile phone unlock. If you are in the difficulty of having to learn the use of another phone along with the high cost of high tech units, then you will begin to realize the value of an unlock phone.

Most people buy another phone when they switch networks. For those who do not have that much money, this can be very inconvenient. When a network provider fails to meet our standards then we should find a different network provider, right? However, we are faced with the problem of locked mobile phones.

You can choose to be absorbed with your network's business strategies and tolerate their inefficiencies even if you are unsatisfied. You can also choose to spend on new phones each time you get fed up with a network provider. But if you are looking for a cheap and effective solution, you can ask for help from people who know how to unlock a phone by paying a small amount for their services.

You can choose to give "nothing personal, just business" strategies of your network provider. You can choose to buy a new phone each time you become unsatisfied with a network provider services. You can also choose to find other way to solve your problem and seek the services of people who know how to unlock a phone and pay a considerably cheaper amount than what you would spend in buying a new phone. Remember, money does not grow on trees so spend it wisely. Also, a new phone might be too technical, too complex and too annoying to learn so you better stick to the one that you are now very familiar and happy with.

Definition of UNLOCKED Phones:

Unlocked phones are opposite to contract/subscriber phones which are limited to certain phone carriers, but unlocked phones are free in any phone carriers if their network frequencies are matching.

Definition of Quad Band Phones:

Quad band phones support GSM850/900/1800/1900MHz simultaneously

Posted by: lionheart

I have 9 months left on my t-mobile contract and I'm content with their service. The problem is I want a phone that another carrier has that is not offered by t-mobile. Can I use my sim card with their phone if I purchase an unlocked phone of that type and still have the same service and regular cell phone functions that I have now.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, the unlocked phone can work well with your pre-paid SIM card, but you should make sure the phone supports GSM900/1800/1900MHz which is required by the SIM card of T-Mobile.

Posted by: shiloh64

I have an unlocked at&t tilt aka kaiser Htc tynn. My question concerns how do I get T-mobile software on and At&t software off?

I am trying to sell this phone and it's confusing to potential buyers. From T-mobile when they place their sims in and it still shows at&t software it is unlocked because otherwise it would ask for PUK a code or message insert sim card.

I unlocked it myself when contract was up requested and received the PUK code used old t-mobile sim card. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

That indicates the phone is not really unlocked, and it can not work suitably with pre-paid SIM cards.

Posted by: open1

Once a cell phone is unlocked would I still have to pay for extras like GPS and Web access? Or is all this unlocked to me? If not, how can I get all this for a low cost?

Posted by: jillactor

If I bought an unlocked phone intending to use it with Metro PCS, would all the features that metro supports work, or just some?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

1> Sure, you should pay extra monthly, just like you have make more calls.

2> Unlocked phones are none of business with them.

3> Sorry, we don’t know Metro PCS, we can not answer this question.

Posted by: pirate73

I was thinking about buying a unlocked phone, but i do not know if it will work with US Cellular? If any one could answer my question that would be great.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

We can not locate the concrete network frequency of US Cellular. We suggest you buy those UNLOCKED phones which support 850/1900 simultaneously, namely, quad band cell phones.

Posted by: anon25788

So if I by an unlocked phone (considering the an unlocked model of my current phone)will I need any special code, etc. to enable the internet browsers, email connections, etc.? All I have to do in put in my sim card & go?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

What you have to do is to only put the SIM card into the unlocked phone.

Posted by: loonster5234

I bought a Motorola trac phone and i like the size. Can i activate this phone on my Verizon account?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Please make sure whether this phone is a contract phone or unlocked phone, if for the former, you can not activate it, if for the latter, needless to activate.

Posted by: anon25535

Do i have to pay for service with the sim card? I have verizon but want an i-phone and i can't afford the switch to another carrier.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

1> Needless to pay extra.

2> Verizon requires CDMA, as we know, iPhone does not support CDMA so far.

Posted by: taytay10

i want to buy a unlock phone from t-moble but i have at&t and i am wondering will the phone work when i get it for at&t

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Quad band unlocked phone can help you realize it.

Posted by: cncisco

so, will an unlocked phone work with a Net10 or TracFone SIM card?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, it will.

Posted by: anon23853

hey, for all you guys that are asking if the unlocked phone will work with your SIM card, look up the phone you want on ebay (there are tons of unlocked phones there) and read the description. it should tell you which SIM cards it works with and answer any other questions you have.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Unlocked phones are opposite to contract phones, but do not mean they can work in any phone carriers, as you know, different phone carriers need different network frequencies.

Posted by: anon23491

I want to buy a phone from ebay.online auction....will it work in India?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, it will.

Posted by: anon23395

I plan on buying a phone as a gift and I know my friend uses ATT and still has a year under the existing contract. I was wondering what my safest bet was? I would hate to get a phone that couldn't be used!

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Buy one unlocked quad band phone, and put the SIM card into the new phone, just go there.

Posted by: anon23316

Could you use an unlocked phone with Tracfone?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, you could.

Posted by: anon23252

If I buy an unlocked cell phone, and transfer my sim card from my old AT&T Pay as You Go Phone, is it necessary then to go to AT&T Dealer if I want to retain my current number????

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Needless, as the number does not change at all.

Posted by: anon23017

good web page... I am a tech nerd and I still did not know what it means to have an unlocked phone... keep seeing all these ads for "unlocked" phones, I wanted to know... now i know and knowing is half the battle... GO Joe.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Please find the definition of unlocked phones on top.

Posted by: mariz0107

thank you soooo much for this... i didnt quite understand the concept but now i do...i have a question though... if unlocked means they can read any sim card that's inserted in the phone... does it mean that i can insert sim cards from any country; because i live in panama, latin america and i travel to the U.S and a lot and i was wondering if i could just buy one of these phones and buy a sim card of an american carrier and use it when i'm there and when i get back use my regular sim card??

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Quad band unlocked phones can help you solve it. Thanks!

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, it is a simple question.

Posted by: MoselyJ3

This article is very helpful. I am just looking into the concept of unlocked cell phones. I am learning about SIM cards and the different networks GSM and CDMA. There is one thing I do not understand. There's no point in specifically buying one if you don't plan on changing providers or if your provider doesn't use SIM cards.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Correct partly. If the card is not associated with an account at a service provider, you won't get any service (except maybe 911).

And yes, this article has nothing to do (currently) with Sprint. Sprint is not GSM, does not use SIM cards, and thus "an unlocked phone" is not a concept that applies.

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Good luck!

Posted by: anon4522

Do you have to have a service plan or do you just put in a SIM card and then you can call anybody anytime for free? thanks

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

That is the obvious function of unlocked phones.

Posted by: warmbrown

Is unlocking a phone illegal?

Answered by onThesource(ONLY for reference)

Sure, legal.

Posted by: warmbrown

Can the Nokia N75 be unlocked to use with T-mobile?
