The issue of driving and cell phones has become a prominent one. In the states of New York, New Jersey and D.C. as well as in the province of Newfoundland, cell phone use while driving has been banned. Do you think this is a good idea or not? Is cellular phone use any more of a danger than eating or smoking while driving? Both mobile phone users and non-users have a wide variety of opinion on this matter. If you use a wireless phone, keep in mind that cellular phone providers can offer you cell phone accessories that eliminate the major reasons why wireless phone use while driving is considered to be dangerous.

The busy person who spends a lot of time traveling (for example, a salesperson) often has a valid reason for needing to use a cell phone while in transit. You may simply be spending much more time on the road than in the office. Hands-free headsets are an excellent way of safely using a mobile phone while traveling. Some wireless providers offer hands-free headsets as part of their mobile phone deals. These days you can obtain free cellular phones that offer voice recognition dialing. This makes it easy to program your telephone with important numbers and their associated names, and ensures that while driving you never need to even touch or look at your cell phone.

For the average person who simply carries a mobile telephone for safety reasons, extra cell phone accessories and features are not as necessary. It can be assumed that in the case of an emergency, such a user would pull off the road to use the mobile phone. If however, you are someone who is using their cellular phone for business, consulting with your wireless phone provider about the best cellular phone accessories for your needs is recommended.

This site offers an extensive list of companies that can provide you with free cell phone packages, cell phone accessories like hands-free headsets, and virtually any other cellular phone requirement you might have. Please take a look at them to find exactly what you need!

By: Caitlin Crosain

Planning to switch to another service provider for your mobile phone? Most cellular phone providers use a certain program code that will lock the unit to that provider without allowing the user of the phone to gain access to the code. However, even though your cell phone is locked to a service provider, it is still possible for you to keep your old phone without switching to a new provider. Here we will look at the steps on how to unlock your cell phone.

There are many reasons why you need to unlock your cell phone. First, it gives you the opportunity of maximizing the features of your phone. Some service providers do not provide sufficient features or is not the suitable feature for your need. Unfortunately, some of these companies permanently lock their phones so that you will have no choice but to stick to that provider.

Another reason why you need to unlock your cell phone is because it is cost-efficient to do so. For example, if your work entails a lot of travel and want to avail of cheaper cost on international calls, you could easily switch service. By maintaining a similar service, you will payment for the roaming fees. With an unlocked mobile phone, you can easily take advantage of the cheaper rates of the rival provider.

Before going down to the procedures of how to unlock your cell phone, it is worth mentioning the two types of cell phones. The first one uses a technology called code division multiple access (CDMA). The second type uses Global System for Mobile communications (GSM). The former does not utilize a SIM card, so there is no need to unlock your cell phone while the latter uses SIM cards. GSM phones are the standard used in over two hundred countries worldwide. GSM providers can lock their units so that the user cannot have access to rival providers.

To determine if the cell phone uses GSM or CDMA, borrow the SIM card of your friend and insert it to your cell phone. If it reads the SIM card of your friend, then the cell phone is not locked. This means that you can take advantage of the better features that the rival provider is offering.

On the other hand, if the phone is locked, you will be able to receive an error message. This means that you cannot use the cell phone if it was provided by a rival provider.

It is so easy to learn how to unlock cell phone. You can contact the provider to give you access to the unlock codes for a certain fee. Likewise, you can also check websites that provide the codes. Normally, you would be charged $5 to $10 to access the unlock code.

However, learning how to unlock your cell phone would require more than just an unlock code. There are some units that would also require a data cable to be connected to the programming unit.

Using an unlocked cell phone is every customer's right. A mobile service provider who locks phones to their network is unfair on your part, after you fulfill whatever contract you signed of course.
