New advances in technology have made it possible for anybody to trace a cell phone location.

These advances in technology designed to trace a cell phone location came about as a result of a number of recent events, including the events of September 11, 2001. Technological breakthroughs which have occurred since then include the inclusion of GPS technology in most mobile phones, and an improved ability to detect a phone's location based on signals from local transmission towers.

There are number services on the Internet which allow you to trace the location of a cell phone. They may differ in therms of interface and appearance, butthey are using the same data from the telecom companies.

In the past the only way to gain access to the technology to trace a cell phone location was to buy equipment, and the use of this equipment was largely regulated to official organisations such as the police.

The way these services work is by gathering information from the telecom company that provides the cell phone service. this information includes the location of the cell phone as calculated by a combination of factors including the GPS as previously mentioned, and the distance to each of the nearest cellphone transmission masts. This is the same information which the police get.

There are wide range of reasons why you might want to trace a cell phone location, such as trying to find out where a friend or relative rates while you're out and about, keeping track of the location of a child, meeting up with friends, and trying to find shops and restaurants near you. Companies make use of these services in order to track their employees location, and also to provide security for employees when they are working in a remote location on their own. In the end, there are probably as many reasons as there are users.

The way GPS technology works in modern cell phones varies between the different cellphone networks, and with some operators it does not continuously transmit location. This means that when you want to trace a cell phone location, the information that you will be gathering is most likely collected from transmission tower locations.

The location of the phone will be tracked using triangulation - by taking 2 or more readings, it is possible to calculate where the signal is comming from by working out the triangle that fits the signal strengths. The 3rd point is the location of the phone.

However, when the person who has the phone has made an emergency call, this GPS transmission will always be sent. This is designed to ensure that the police can always track a cell phone location, in order to get help to people who need it.

The result of this design that the accuracy of the location which is provided by the service will be greater in areas which are more populated, and have more radio transmission masts, and will be lower in areas where there are very few radio masts, such is the wastelands, deserts, or un-populated areas of countryside. So, it is easier to track a cell phone location with a high level of accuracy in built up areas.

Nonetheless, most times you trace a cell phone location the information from the cell phone masts should be fine. After all, you do not need to know the person's location with a very great deal of accuracy for most purposes.

By: Matthew Burns

Many types of cell phone antenna are available for home use. It can be hard to choose between them if you don't have enough information. You can get some advice from your wireless service provider. You can also look up information on cell phone antennas online, through search engines and other resources. Your available choices include cell phone signal booster antennas, large antennas, and a whole range of products in between.

Cell phone antennas or cell phone boosters can boost the reception of your wireless phone. This makes for fewer dropped calls and less static in your calls. When using the phone in an elevator or tunnel, the booster can be the difference between having a clear, audible phone call and a dropped or staticky one. Cell phone boosters are available for home use as well. There's a wide variety of products available, and some are better than others.

Cell phone antennas function because they're tuned to a specific frequency. However, this frequency doesn't reach all homes equally. Some people's houses may be badly located, so a booster can help you to get a good signal.

Cell phone antenna boosters are easy for anyone to use. They work by enchancing the signals going into and coming out of your phone. This results in a clearer call and better reception in places where the signal is usually poor. Dual and tri band cell phone antenna boosters are available for home use, both 800 and 900 MHz, and in analog and digital formats. Many people keep their land lines, despite not wanting to have one, because their cell phone won't work well in their house. Because of this unreliability, they acquire monthly land line costs in addition to their cellular bill. A booster could solve these problems and reduce their expenses.

If you do decide to get a cell phone antenna booster to use in your home, you'll be able to use your phone inside, instead of making calls on the porch or in the yard. Some boosters are available in very affordable ranges - under ten dollars! Many of the cheapest kind don't work very well, but the midrange cell phone boosters are affordable and reliable.

Those with special needs might decide to spring for the high-end models, which can run up to several hundred dollars. A few dollars could save you hundreds over the course of a few years, just by not having to maintain a land line. A cell phone antenna booster also prevents you from dropping calls, having to listen to the crackle and pop of static, and missing vital business calls. Investing in a cell phone booster antenna could really make the difference in the quality of your calls.

By: Tomaz Mencinger

If you've followed the developments in the China cellphone wholesale market lately it seems that one SIM card is not enough, and there's a proliferation of mobile phones with at least two SIM cards.

Major wireless cell phone manufacturers like Samsung, Nokia and Motorola have been slow to catch up with Samsung only just releasing a model at the time this article was written.

So what's going on? Are the makers of these China cellphone wholesale brands that busy that they need two SIM cards? Did it only happen to so that they could avoid getting phone calls from their partner and how can it benefit us as consumers.

We attempted to get to the bottom of this dual mobile mystery.

What is dual SIM?

Dual SIM essentially refers to a phone that can hold and utilize two SIM cards in the same GSM cellular phone. It doesn't matter if they're dual SIM TV phones or any other dual SIM phones as long as they take two SIM cards and read them then they are dual SIM mobile phones.

How does dual SIM work?

The answer to this question all depends on the phone. Some types of unlocked phone have two CPUs (central processing units, the part of the phone that does the 'thinking') which allow them to potentially answer two phones at the same time. Essentially it means that you can receive signals for both numbers.

Not all dual SIM card phones have two CPUs and this can have two results for consumers. If the phone has call secretary software, or your carrier has an online call secretary service then if you're on the phone and another call comes in then it'll be shipped to voicemail. If no such software or option exists on your GSM dual mobile then the other caller will just be told that your line is busy.

So can I take two phone calls at the same time on a dual SIM phone?

Again the answer to that question depends on how many CPUs your phone has, if there is more than one then there should be no problem. But if your China cellphone wholesale phone only has the one CPU then you're only going to be able to take or make one phone call at a time.

Why dual SIM?

The concept of dual SIM cell phones suits many people for many reasons, regardless of whether you're interested in a phone from a major brand or a dual SIM phone from China. But the most-commonly given reasons are for coverage, economy and convenience.

When trying to get the best deal/best coverage out of your unlocked phone then sometimes the service of one carrier isn't enough and you need to set up two phones to make sure you're reachable at all times and you reduce the phone bill on your mobile phone. A cell phone that will handle two SIM cards should let you cut down costs while keeping two carriers on the same phone.

The other reason for two SIM cards is the ability to keep all of your personal and business contacts separate while keeping them in the same place.

Do both numbers in Dual SIM share the same memory?

Yes, Both numbers share the same telephone list and SMS library so there's no threat of wasting hours scrolling through two different libraries to find one message.

Why do most dual SIM phones come from China?

Nobody knows quite why dual SIM phone from China are so prevalent but with the volume of electronics being manufactured in China and the frequency that OEM manufacturers are used means that China cellphone wholesale makers are more likely to create new solutions and new features than phone makers from other parts of the world. Of course it could also be that they don't want their partners to see who else they're calling but we'll never know.

How does a dual SIM phone switch from one SIM card to another?

When you're using a wireless cell phone with two SIM cards when making calls is usually done by either pressing a button or making a menu selection.

When your dual mobile is receiving calls then it's simply a case of first come first serve and the caller who gets in contact with you first talks to you first, regardless of which SIM their details are on.

So there you go, some of the answers to dual SIM card phones that you probably wanted to know but were afraid to ask. One thing remains true, when it comes to unlocked cell phones or China cellphone wholesale manufacturers we are going to be seeing a whole lot more phones on the market with slots for two SIM cards. And that is definitely a good think in my books.

When you buy a mobile phone from Cingular, they are going to lock their phone internally so that only calls processed through the Cingular network will be received by the unit. If you wish to change to another service provider you are going to have to perform what is called a Cingular unlock. There is no worry about the legal aspects of doing this. Unless your contract specifies that Cingular retains ownership of the phone, you are free to unlock it. It is your property. Once you unlock your Cingular phone, you are going to be able to take advantage of any special deals being offered by competing companies. It is also going increase the resale value of the unit.

When you are ready to perform the unlock, you are going to have to acquire the unlock code. There are a large number of websites that specialize in Cingular unlock codes and they can provide the code for your individual model. You need to be prepared to pay for the code, but the price is not excessive. You can take a little bit of time and shop around for the best deal. Once you are provided with the code, it is a simple matter of typing it into the mobile phone via the keypad. This is a distinct advantage of the Cingular phones. Other phones often require hooking your phone to your computer via a USB cable and downloading the unlocking software.

Once you have typed in the code, you will usually receive a message from your phone that lets you know it is now unlocked, but if this is not the case; there is an alternative way to check. Each unit has what is called a SIM card that identifies the phone and the service provider. You will need to borrow a SIM card from someone with a cell phone that is connected to a different service and install it into your phone. If it recognizes the new SIM card you will know it is unlocked.

It is a good idea to record the unlock code once you receive it, and to store it in a safe place. It is possible to relock phones via remote signals, and although this is not done often, you are not going to want to pay twice for the unlock code in the event it does occur. Once you have finished the unlock process, you are free to use whatever service you prefer, and will have a more valuable unit should you wish to sell it at a later date.

By: Natalie Aranda
